Faculty now earn Empowered Points every time they lead their students on a Squads Abroad program! These points can be used to provide scholarships for your students, join a Faculty Site Visit, attend a conference or travel abroad to one of our program countries. You could potentially even use these points to bring a family member along with you for FREE on your next Squad Abroad!

Every Empowered Point is equivalent to $1 that can be used towards any of the following:

Site Visits

Join one of our Faculty Site Visits to a country abroad to see behind-the-scenes of our programs. Our staff will meet you at the airport and organize all food, accommodations and travel logistics as you tour the country learning about our programs and enjoying some of the region’s cultural heritage and most beautiful landscapes. Use your Empowered Points to travel for FREE, and you are welcome to extend your trip to enjoy additional days relaxing at the beach or visiting tourist sites.

Scholarships

Use your Empowered Points to bring a student on a Squad Abroad for FREE, or to reduce the cost of traveling for multiple students. The gift of traveling the world is one of the greatest gifts someone can give to another, and we encourage you to use your points to support students that might otherwise not be able to travel.

Project Donation

The core mission of Squads Abroad and all of our international trips is to serve the communities in need. Now you can use your Empowered Points to support a project donation to help local communities access essential resources. Whether on your trip or at another time of your choice, you can work with our team to make sure your donation reaches the people that need it most.

Beginning August 1, 2024, faculty and chaperones will begin earning Empowered Points for every student that enrolls in a program. Redeem these points for rewards as early as the summer of 2024!

Squads are passionate groups of volunteers who mobilize abroad to create positive change. Each Squad type has a skill-based focus area that support the education, health and economic development objectives of community partners. Faculty choose their dates, duration (typically 1-2 weeks), and their site location from one of our six program countries.
