Take the Global Medical Challenge!

Set yourself apart and make an impact in international medicine...

Global Medical Squads is excited to offer the Global Medical Challenge online program designed for high school chapters of four or more students to explore international medicine and the healthcare challenges faced around the world. Complete a series of online modules to identify medical challenges and explore potential solutions before creating an ‘health educational video’ to be featured by our Community Health Workers and in our Medical Clinics.

The Global Medical Challenge will:

  • Introduce you to international medicine and the healthcare challenges faced around the world
  • Explore how to operate an international clinic, including triage, pharmacy and consultations
  • Guide you through the medical challenges faced abroad and support you to explore potential solutions
  • Challenge you to create an ‘educational health video’ to be used in communities around the world.

Upon completion Global Medical Challenge participants will:

  • Earn up to 20 documented medical service hours
  • Receive a Global Medical Challenge Certificate
  • Compete with other Medical Squad chapters for awards and scholarships

A Sustainable High-Impact Health Non-Profit

For 20 years, Global Medical Squads has supported communities around the world to access essential medical and healthcare services. Through rural and urban clinics, as well as school health screenings and public health workshops, Global Health Squads and our partners have served over 1.6 million patients to date. 
 
On a Global Medical Squad, you will be partnered with healthcare service projects that are long-lasting and high impact. Alongside our partner NGO Global Brigades, we ensure that all of your work, and the work of our team, makes a sustainable positive impact on the lives of the communities in which we work. We invite you to come see for yourself!
Squads are passionate groups of volunteers who mobilize abroad to create positive change. Each Squad type has a skill-based focus area that support the education, health and economic development objectives of community partners. Faculty choose their dates, duration (typically 1-2 weeks), and their site location from one of our six program countries.
