ABOUT US

Squads Abroad is excited to introduce the Global Medical Academy (GMA), an immersive 9-day medical experience in under-resourced rural communities in Belize and Panama. This program offers high school students and faculty a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare field among a cohort of like-minded peers. The program is open to groups of 3+ high school juniors and seniors traveling with one faculty or chaperone.

The Medical Academy brings teachers and students into the world of international medicine, offering you a life-changing chance to gain hands-on experience, discover global healthcare challenges, and make a tangible difference in underserved communities.

Participants will develop a valuable set of skills, including patient triage, vital sign monitoring, physician shadowing, and exposure to pharmacy operations. Through your hard work, you will play a pivotal role in a globally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to improving global health.
